Jyodogahama (Miyako)

Jodogahama Beach in the Sanriku Geopark is located within the Sanriku Fukko National Park and is officially recognised as a place of scenic beauty. The beach is formed by volcanic white rocks and pebbles and contrasts beautifully with the surrounding green pine grove, and deep blue hues of the sky and ocean. it is a very popular place for tourists all year round.

Kitayamazaki (Tanohata village)

Kitayamazaki is an eight kilometer long stretch of coastline in northern Iwate Prefecture. Part of the Sanriku Recovery National Park, it features sheer, 150-200 meter high cliffs.

Ryusendo Caves (Iwaizumi Town)

Ryusendo Cave is one of the Three Great Limestone Caves in Japan and a national natural monument. In the cave, fresh spring water forms deep underground lakes; the most impressive is the third lake, with a depth of 98 meters and beautiful emerald-green water. The fourth lake is the deepest underground lake in Japan ( 120 meters ) and one of the most transparent lakes in the world. Due to the color it is known as Dragon Blue.

Miyako Jyodogahama Sightseeing Boat (Miyako)

Departing from Jodogahama, enjoy a 40 minute cruise past the visually spectacular scenes of places like the nationally-designated Natural Monument of Candle Rock and Meoto-iwa Rock. The seagulls that chase after the boats are cute. The marine guide will explain about the scenery from on-board.

Sappa Ship Adventures (Tanohata Village)

Enjoy a ride in a small fishing boats called sappa boats, steered by fishermen. Only skilled fishermen can navigate near Kitayamazaki’s 200 meter-high cliffs. The captain will explain about the local nature and fishing in the area.

Taro Kanko Hotel (Miyako)

Taro Kanko Hotel is one of a few buildings that was inundated with water up to the 4th floor during the Northern Japan Tsunami in 2011. The building is now used as a place to learn about natural disasters, with a guided tour. (reservation required)

Sanouiwa (Miyako City)

Sanouiwa is designated a natural monument, and consists of the 50 meter male rock in the center, female rock on the left and Taiko drum rock on the right. You can get a map of how to get there from the closely located Road station Taro.

Seats are not pre-assigned. Please be sure to arrive at Miyako station/Morioka Station at least 5 minutes before departure time. Customers who have pre-reserved tickets will have priority boarding. (If arriving less than 5 minutes before departure priority boarding is not possible) Customers who haven't pre-reserved tickets will be able to board after priority boarding has finished, until bus capacity.

All seats are reserved. Please reserve your seats online, or at the Morioka Station Front Bus Information Booth, Miyako Station Front Bus Information Booth, or at Jodogahama Park Hotel. If boarding from 「Prefectual Office City Hall」 or 「Yamabiko Sanchokukan」without pre-reserving your ticket, please receive your seat allocation from the driver.
